In the brutal winter of 2013/2014 many HVAC coil freeze-ups occurred in the Delaware Valley. Siemens was prepared for the unpredictable by insisting that Cooney Freeze Block be specified for their preheat steam coils. Cooney Freeze Block withstood a system failure without any damage to the coils.
“This product did what we hoped by protecting our steam coils from rupturing and kept the heat on as a result.” – Jim Farrell of Delaware Engineering
During the system failure, the Cooney Freeze Block coils did not rupture. This was evident based on the ice formation in the drain pan below the coil, indicative of a valve discharge.
