It is normal to think the worst when you see ice in the drain pan underneath chilled water coils. This was the case at University of Pennsylvania after a large replacement project was underway in a historically problematic area. Fortunately, University of Pennsylvania had insisted that these replacement coils be equipped with Cooney Freeze Block. The contractor and end user were delighted after thawing and restarting the system, all parties were grateful for the decision as the coils were clearly exposed to the freezing air, but did not rupture as they had in the past.
“We are happy that we went the extra mile and protected our HVAC coils with the Freeze Block technology. This event made believers out of us.”
